Tom Hanks would do 'anything' to go to space despite turning down Jeff Bezos' offer

Tom Hanks is not ashamed to admit his love for space and in a recent interview the actor stated he would do anything to get a chance to go to space.

Elon Musk, Richard Branson, and Jeff Bezos have been open about their love for space and another celebrity who is now joining this list is Tom Hanks. The actor has already impressed viewers with his outstanding acting in movies like Forrest Gump, The Terminal, A Man Called Otto, and many more. Now, it looks like he is ready to change his career if it means he will get to visit space.

Tom Hanks is ready to do anything to go to space

In a recent interview, the actor revealed the lengths he is ready to go to get a chance to go to space. He said: “I would like to be the guy in charge of serving food and making jokes to and from the moon. If there was room, I would be the guy that cleans up, makes jokes, tells stories, and keeps everybody entertained. I’m your man. I would probably sign up right now.”

“That might be a good idea. I’ll do all the work. I’ll clean the toilet. I’ll serve the food. I’ll fold the clothes. I’ll stow the gear. That way the others could be free to do other stuff,” he continued.

While Tom seemed excited for any opportunity, he did make it clear that he was not ready to spend a lot despite having a massive net worth.

Why did Tom Hanks turn down Jeff Bezos’s offer?

Tom turned down Jeff’s idea because of the cost he would have had to pay for the space mission. Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the actor revealed that he was one of the first ones to be contacted by the Amazon founder with the offer to go to space.

However, he was not ready to put forward 28 million for it. “You know what, we could simulate the experience of going to space right now,” he joked at that time.
